Regulation

Energy Broking Ireland (EBI) has been designated as an Organised Market Place (OMP) by ACER pursuant to the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1348/2014 of 17 December 2014 (REMIT Implementing Regulation).

EBI has registered the commodity products offered on the Trading Platform with ACER as part of the OMP registration process.

The commodity products offered on the Trading Platform for electronic trading will be spot physical products. The commodity products offered on the Trading Platform with a delivery period outside the 'spot window' will be voice broked. The Trading Platform is therefore not a Multilateral Trading Facility under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

REMIT Requirements

Customers have a right under REMIT legislation to request EBI, as a registered OMP, to provide transaction and order lifecycle data. Such data would be provided in accordance with the terms of a REMIT Reporting Agreement.

EBI is delighted to be able to offer the following service to customers:-

  • Life-cycle order and transactional data is captured by EBI's Trading Platform at the end of each Trading Day and is then transposed into the XML format (as specified by ACER).
  • This data can then be transferred from EBI to the customer's REMIT Reporting Mechanism (RRMs) for onward transmission to ACER.
