Energy Broking Ireland launches training course for Irish gas market: "The Irish Gas Market in Transition"
As a result of interest from customers and stakeholders in the Irish gas market, Energy Broking Ireland has launched a training course on recent changes in the Irish gas market.
This one-day in house course explains the Irish gas market structure and how changes in supply and demand, regulation and EU developments are impacting the gas market. The Corrib field has been in commercial operation since July 2016. It has caused major changes to gas flows in Ireland, leading to significant developments in wholesale price formation. The increases in wind generation capacity, with up to 50% of electricity demand sometimes being met by wind is leading to increased volatility in Irish gas demand. All these factors are resulting in a step change in trading activity at the Irish Balancing Point offering opportunities for buyers and sellers.
Course participants will benefit from understanding the nature and speed of these changes in the Irish gas market and by the end of the day be able to assess what it means for their organisation.
